Nishat's Monthly Reads 📖 Issue #4 — The August 2026 Catch-Up

A month-end catch-up on everything worth reading from August 2026 — WordPress 7.1's launch drama, Google's spam update, AI search shifts, and 82 more reads across 6 categories.

August was a lot. WordPress 7.1 launched at WordCamp US Phoenix, Google’s spam update came and went, AI Overviews ate another chunk of the web, and everyone in the creator space is either panicking or doubling down. I read a lot this month, more than usual and this issue is my attempt to make sense of all of it.

As always, I saved everything in Notion (total 591 articles) and pulled the best ones here (85 articles). Grab a drink.

That’s August. The WordPress world had its hands full between the 7.1 launch drama and the lawsuit. The AI world moved fast as always. And the creator space keeps splitting between people chasing scale and people quietly building something they can live with.

See you in September.

Reply to this if anything stood out to you.
